This week, we are proud to shine a spotlight on some extraordinary individuals within our ranks who plant seeds of kindness and giving wherever they go. Their dedication to service goes far beyond the workplace, and their impact is immeasurable.
🤝 Jeff & Suzanne Lockwood | Manna Café Ministries - Clarksville, TN
Jeff and Suzanne Lockwood volunteer as Outreach Counselors at Manna Cafe Ministries in Clarksville, TN, an organization dedicated to serving people in need throughout Clarksville and Montgomery County through a soup kitchen on wheels, food box distribution, and other vital resources.
Every Thursday evening, Jeff and Suzanne lead the meal service at Veterans Plaza, where an average of 150 people receive hot meals, snacks, drinks, and sweet treats. But the ministry's reach extends far beyond food. Through their work, they also help distribute diapers, clothing, shoes, tents, sleeping bags, household items, and hygiene products to those who need them most.
Perhaps most meaningfully, Jeff and Suzanne work alongside on-site counselors to connect individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction to rehabilitation and recovery programs - offering not just a meal, but a pathway to hope.
During the winter months, they extend their service further by volunteering at an emergency warming shelter that provides the homeless with a warm place to sleep, access to showers, and a hot meal. For Jeff and Suzanne, the greatest reward has been getting to know the people they serve on a personal level - hearing their stories and offering encouragement to those navigating some of life's most difficult moments.
🤼 Scott Shipman | Grace Christian Academy Wrestling - Franklin, TN
Scott Shipman channels his passion for wrestling into building the next generation of student athletes as the Head Middle School and High School Wrestling Coach at Grace Christian Academy (GCA) in Franklin, TN. GCA launched its middle school wrestling program in 2022 and expanded to a high school program in 2023, and Scott has been a driving force behind both.
Guiding his athletes in alignment with GCA's Athletics Mission Statement "...using the arena of athletic competition to teach each student-athlete the disciplines needed to build Christian character, develop a sense of community, and foster excellence in education, TEAMwork, and leadership", Scott works with middle and high school wrestlers, helping them develop not just their skills on the mat, but their character, work ethic, and leadership abilities in everyday life.
🏐 Jessica Spurlock | Foster Families, Volleyball Coaching & Community Outreach - Murfreesboro, TN
Jessica Spurlock exemplifies what it means to give back in every season of life. Her volunteer work spans multiple areas of community need, touching the lives of children, families, and neighbors in deeply meaningful ways. Jessica actively supports families and children within the foster care system, sourcing and delivering donations - including clothing, toys, food, and other essentials for those in need. She pays particular attention to cases where children are reuniting with biological parents who may be facing significant challenges, ensuring these families have what they need to move forward with dignity.
As a youth volleyball coach at her local recreational center, Jessica teaches girls and boys ages 9 to 18 the fundamentals of the game, helping them develop skills, build confidence, and stay active. She finds deep fulfillment in watching her young athletes grow - not just as players, but as individuals.
When the holiday season arrives, Jessica and her husband bring the spirit of giving to their doorstep. The couple delivers baskets of food to families in need and participates in local "Shop with a Cop" programs, which pair law enforcement officers with children during the holiday season to bring some joy and celebration to those who need it most. For Jessica, volunteering is truly a family affair.
⚖️ Paige Meade | Victim Advocacy & Community Education - Virginia
The depth and breadth of Paige Meade's volunteer service is nothing short of extraordinary. As a Victim Advocate, Paige provides on-call hospital volunteer services in partnership with Virginia law enforcement, medical providers, and allied professionals - showing up for survivors of trauma at some of their most vulnerable moments. In 2017, Paige created a trauma-informed curriculum for sexual assault survivors and continues to facilitate weekly group sessions for the Women's Unit at her local Adult Detention Center. Since 2018, she has partnered with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) Victim Services Unit to facilitate the U.S. Department of Justice's Victim Impact: Listen and Learn program, addressing incarcerated individuals across the state with a message centered on personal accountability, the ripple effect of crime, victims' rights, and the human impact of their actions. Paige also provides critical training to law enforcement, corrections officers, and community agencies on sexual violence through the Virginia Department of Corrections and Pinnal TCI, and has served as an advisor and mentor to school-based and community programs supporting victims.
For 2026, Paige Co-Chairs the 2026 Prince William County Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Steering Committee to resurrect SA programs and community education opportunities that have been dormant since the pandemic.

🎓⚾ Dease Moore | The Moore Legacy Foundation & Florida Minority Baseball Alliance — Central Florida
Dease Moore's commitment to service is expressed through two powerful channels - education and athletics - and his impact in both arenas is deeply felt. As the Founder of The Moore Legacy Foundation (TMLF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Dease creates intentional spaces where young people can grow academically, mentally, and personally. He is especially passionate about the mental performance side of development, equipping students with the communication skills, self-advocacy tools, and inner confidence they need to stand firm in who they are and pursue their dreams with purpose. For Dease, the mission is simple but profound: legacy is built one student at a time.
Through his volunteer work with the Florida Minority Baseball Alliance (FMBA) in Central Florida, Dease advocates for minority athletes at the regional, state, and national level, ensuring they have access to the exposure, development, and support needed to open doors that might otherwise remain closed. From organizing events like the Florida Verified Tour to championing players who need someone in their corner, Dease shows up as a constant presence and trusted voice for those who deserve a fair shot at the game they love.
